AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA IN HUNTSVILLE
We are the University of Alabama in Huntsville, American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Student Chapter. As a chapter, we value the importance of always being a student. We host workshops, meetings, and compete in several different competitions at the ASCE Gulf Coast Regional Student Conference. Our largest competitions are Steel Bridge, Concrete Canoe, Sustainable Solutions, Surveying, and our newest addition Timber Strong. However, there are several other various smaller competitions we participate in at competition!
We think it is very important to make connections and always be open to learning. We value friendship, leadership, hard work, and endurance. You do not have to be a civil engineering major to join ASCE at UAH. We welcome all UAH students, who want to help out or even just learn more about our chapter!
If you would like more information on the chapter, feel free to reach out to one of the members of the executive board for the upcoming year or just simply email asce@uah.edu!
OR feel free to join our discord, email list, or just follow us on Instagram. We would love to get to know you!
Our student chapter gets together monthly! We have a monthly meeting, where we typically have a short speaker or activity relative to civil engineering. These meetings are also used to inform the organization about upcoming events, internship opportunities and many other fun things! We usually have free pizza and drinks. (See the events page for the full schedule and more information!)
Feel free to browser our website to learn more about ASCE and how you can be involved!
we value the fundamentals and traditions of civil engineering principles
We are a student-led organization and run off of donations and sponsorship. If you are interested in making a donation or having your company sponsor us, please send an email to asce@uah.edu. We really appreciate all contributions and considerations.
